Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (KD/NR)

Udupi, Sep 17: Karkala police nabbed a gang of eight thieves who were indulging in theft of gear drums and other articles from Lemina foundries at Nitte here.

The police have recovered 87 gear drums worth Rs1,94,000 and two vehicles which were used by them to commit the offence. 

The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Ashraf (24), son of Abdul Quadir, Abdul Ajeej (25), son of Ahmmed Bawa, Sumant (21), son of Anni, Yogish Achari (22), son of Shrinivas Achari, Mathew Joseph (33), son of Vijayan, Jaya Poojary (39), son of Angara Poojary, Nitayanand Poojary (29), son of Sanjeev Poojary and Dinesh Shetty (21) son of Sanjeeva Shetty.  All are the residents of Nitte. 

According to the police the culprits have been remanded to judicial custody and a case has been registered against them at Karkala rural police station.
