Mangalore, Sep 17: The feast of Lady of Dolours was celebrated on Sunday September 16. After seven days of prayer and contemplating the sorrows of our Lady, the people of Lady of Dolours ward of Kinnigoli Parish near here, celebrated the feast on Sunday.

Fr Alfred Pinto, parish priest, Fr Anil D’Silva, assistant parish priest and Fr Valerian Mendonca, principal, Pompeii College, were the chief guests.

On the occasion, couples who completed 25 years of married life and members aged 60 years and above, were honoured.

Rufina D’Souza aged 100 years, was also honoured. Teachers and brilliant students were honoured by the chief guests.

In his speech, Fr Alfred Pinto, congratulated the members of the ward and urged them to help and understand each other to build-up a better parish and society. Fr Anil D’Silva who recently celebrated his birthday was also honoured.
 
Sunitha Menenes welcomed the gathering and Gurkar of the ward Vincent D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Anitha Menezes compered the programme.
