Kundapur, Sep 15: A state-level workshop and symposium on "Journalism and Translation" will be held for journalism students, at N R Shetty Hall, Bandarkars College, here from Monday September 17 to Wednesday September 19 in association with Bandarkars College, Kundapur and The Karnataka Anuvada (translation) Academy.
The seminar and workshop will be inaugurated by Dr Niranjana Vanalli, chairperson, department of Journalism and Communication of Mysore University on Monday September 17 at 10 am. Dr Pradana Gurudutt, chairman of the academy will be the chief guest.
Dr H Shantha Ram, administrator, Academy of General Education, Manipal will preside over the function.
The valedictory function will be held on Wednesday September 19 at 3.30 pm.
Papers will also be presented by students on 'problems faced by translators in Journalism'. The session will be chaired by Chidambara Baikampady, principal correspondent of Kannada Prabha.
