Udupi, Sep 14: Renovation works of ancient Mahotobhara Vishweshwara temple at Yellur was inaugurated on Thursday September 13.

The devotees from Yellur, Belapu, Kutyar, Majur, Palimar, Mudurangadi, Kalattur, Kunjur, Padur, Adve, Kemmundelu and Santur, took out a colourful procession from their respective villages to the temple and offered laterite stones from every house for the renovation of the temple. Vedamurti Padur Laxmi Narayan Tantri officiated the religious rituals later.

Stage programme was held after the religious rituals. K L Kundantaya, sub-editor of Udayavani Kannnada daily presided over the programme. Retired advocate general B B Acharya, former MP Vinaykumar Sorake, managing trustee of the temple Y Praphulla, Kunjur temple managing trustee Nadimane B Mohan Rao, Kalattur temple managing trustee Krishamurti, Nandikur temple managing trustee Anantaram Bhat, Mumbai Devadiga Association president Dharmapal Devadiga, Belapu Panchayat president Deviprasad Shetty, Yellur panchayat president Yashwant Shetty and renovation committee honourary president Balakrishna Shetty were present on this occasion.

Kutyar Prasad Shetty delivered introductory remarks. Kinja Shridhar Tantri proposed vote of thanks.
