Kundapur, Sep 13: A pregnant woman who suddenly developed labour pains while being rushed to the hospital for admission delivered a baby in the autorickshaw at Beejady near here on Wednesday.
The auto driver, Udaya, immediately stopped the vehicle and arranged for privacy and others' help to facilitate the childbirth.
He also took her to the Koteshwar hospital for further attention. Udaya's timely help has been widely appreciated by the public. Such acts of goodwill would go a long way in promoting mutual understanding and communal harmony, they felt.
