Mangalore, Sep 12: The unfortunate ‘Chang Le Men’ ship is still lying in a tilted state in the sea-bed of Tannirbavi coastline. However, the good news is that it has started responding to the rescue operations carried out in recent days. Officials here informed that the ship has recovered to about 2 degrees on its axis after the pumping out excessive water.

Earlier, the ship had tilted to an angle of approximately 16 degree on its axis.

Sources here informed that the pumping out of water from the ship has been completed. Meanwhile, the levelling of cargo inside the ship continued even on Tuesday September. 11. The authorities here are hopeful of the ship being ready to set a sail by September 13. However, it all depends on the weather conditions as it will play a crucial role in the making the ship sea-worthy again.

The weather Gods have not played truant, as one finds weather conditions quite congenial since past several days in the region. Even the sky was bright and pleasant here on Tuesday Sept. 11. In view of these circumstances, the authorities here are hopeful of saving the ship.
