Mangalore Sep 11: The students of Karnataka Polytechnic at Kadri have alleged that they are being mentally harassed by principal B Vijay Kumar. Irked by this students staged a protest in front of KPT here on Tuesday September 11 morning.

In the press release, the students of the said Polytechnic expressing their deep anguish complained that their principal Vijay Kumar, who is holding the said post for the past 25 years at the polytechnic, takes money from them for private tuitions and those students who refuse to join his tuition classes are failed in the exams. They are even deprived of provisions such as making use of computers etc.  

Further according to the press release, any student who opposes or complains against the principal is looked upon as a criminal and threatened and even police are summoned on some pretext or other to harass such students. 

The students from MSEZ (Mangalore Special Economic Zone) are given more preference than regular students by the principal, rued students.

Moreover, the studentsrevealed that as per the hostel rules of the Karnataka Polytechnic, only aged female wardens are to be appointed for the Warden post at the hostel, however in this instance the principal flouting all rules has appointed a young male namely Mohan Heble, who being the principal’s appointee, also mentally harasses the students making their lives miserable.

Hence in view of the above, the students via a protest have demanded the immediate transfer of both the principal B Vijay Kumar and warden Mohan Heble.

    Form a committee to find out the truth,so that, public will come to know, what is wrong?what is right?in the mean time no body should be punished without reason.  Truth is very important,if the princepal has violated the norms,he should be punished,how he can stay back for the past 25 years in KPT?
