Chicago, Sep 11: Grand Rapids, Michigan, September 8: 31st Annual Lions USA/CANADA Leadership Forum was held this year at Grand Rapids Michigan.  There were more than 2,700 lions from all over the world especially from the US and Canada took part in this three days event which started on Thursday, September 6, 2007 and ended on September 8, 2007 with a grand finale.

  

There were 55 classroom presentations on various subjects on Leadership, motivation, inspiration, team work and fund raising.  These seminars covered topics which enhanced lions service and membership development within lions communities.  Forum brought enthusiasm, added knowledge and readiness to be better leaders in their clubs and communities.
 
International Vice President Albert Brandel from New York was the honorary chairperson of this event.  International fame motivational speakers like Eileen McDargh, Stryker Corbin, John P. Walters, Jeanne Robertson, Steve Gilliland and Manuel Scott were the star speakers of this Leadership Forum this year.
 
On its final day on Saturday during luncheon program top Sight First II leaders were recognized and felicitated.  From the State of Illinois, one of 185 worldwide Sight First II Campaign Sector Coordinator Lion Austin Prabhu received an award of appreciation from Lions Clubs International President Mahendra Amarasuriya from Sri Lanka and Lions Clubs International Foundation Chairman Jimmy Ross from Texas.  So far in his sector Lion Austin raised more than 662 thousand dollars for this campaign.  Lions International have a goal of reaching 200 million dollars worldwide by the end of June 2008.
