Mangalore, Sep 11: Three separate cases of drowning were reported on Monday in the coastal districts.

Mahadeva (50), hailing from Bhatkal, working in a boat, had accidentally slipped into the sea on Sunday, while at an attempt to collect fish for cooking from another boat. His body was traced on Monday.

Riaz (14) from Kodankur near Udupi, slipped into a newly-laid water tank of KUDCEMP project. The Udupi town police has registered a case.

Anish (20), from Idukki in Kerala, drowned while swimming at the Panambur beach on Sunday evening with his two other friends. His body was found at Meenakaliya near Bykampady on Monday morning. There have been regular incidents of drowning at Panambur beach, in spite of danger signs and locals' warnings which are sadly ignored.
