Udupi, Sep 10: The auto drivers and owners of Katpady observed ‘bundh’ on Sunday September 9, protesting against the assault on three of their colleagues by some miscreants at Katpady.

A complaint has been registered at Kaup police station that three youngsters including Ravindra and Shekar, assaulted the auto driver Jagdish after the latter  reportedly obstructed a car near Bankers’ colony at Katpady.  

Meanwhile the auto drivers also complained that their association president Rama Amin and Nagesh Jatthanna, were also assaulted by the same youth.  Other auto drivers who were witnessing the assault seem to have left the spot.

The auto drivers Jagdish and Nagesh Jatthanna, who were injured in the assault by the youngsters, are being admitted in Udupi Government Hospital.  The auto drivers of Katpady condemned the attack on their comrades after they learnt of the assault.  They have further threatened not to ply their autos till the culprits are being arrested.
