Take inspiration from Ambedkar's life: Modi urges NCC cadets

New Delhi, Jan 28 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged the National Cadet Corps (NCC) students to take inspiration from the life of Bhimrao Ambedkar, one of the key architects of the Indian Constitution.

Addressing the cadets who came from across the country to take part in the Republic Day celebrations here, the prime minister said the Republic Day this year marked the 125th birth anniversary of Ambedkar.

"Social exclusion inflicts very deep wounds which an ordinary psyche can perhaps never overcome. But Ambedkar was no ordinary life. Despite facing contempt and neglect in his life, the constitution he drafted has no bitterness or vendetta against any section,” Modi told the cadets at the NCC rally here.

“Instead, our constitution is an integrating factor that guides and inspires us to walk shoulder to shoulder and fulfil our responsibilities towards the nation.”

Modi urged the NCC cadets to imbibe the good things that they observed during their stay in Delhi over the last one month for the Republic Day celebrations.
