Mangalore, Sept 9: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee has officially chosen Ramanath Rai as the new president of Dakshina Kannada Congress Committee (DCC).
This official order has been issued on Saturday, September 9, as per the directions of AICC president Sonia Gandhi and the recommendations of KPCC president Mallikarjun Kharge.
Owing to the sickness of present DCC president Blasius D’Souza, there was heavy competition for this post for the past several days. In fact much earlier the high command had passed an official order by nominating Ramanath Rai for the post.
However, the KPCC, for reasons best known to them, had delayed the declaration of this order officially.
The Congress activists of Bantwal constituency celebrated the appointment of Ramanath Rai on Saturday, September 8.
