Srinagar, Jan 26 (IANS): A guerrilla was killed on Tuesday in a gunfight with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district, police said.
A brief gun battle broke out between the security forces and guerrillas in Khalhaar (Kokarnag) area of the district early in the day.
"The gunfight started around 3 a.m. today (Tuesday). One militant has been killed and one AK-47 rifle and three AK magazines were recovered," an official said.
The security forces did not suffer any casualties, police added.
