Kejriwal opens elevated road

New Delhi, Jan 24 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday inaugurated a six-lane elevated road on the Outer Ring Road which shall contribute significantly to making the peripheral route signal-free.

The 2.6-km-long elevated corridor connects Madhuban Chowk and Mukarba Chowk in north-west Delhi, officials said. It forms the second leg of the Vikaspuri-Wazirabad elevated corridor project on the Outer Ring Road.

"Another Rs.125 crore saved," Kejriwal tweeted, referring to the cost of construction.

The project was completed at a cost of Rs.300 crore against the originally sanctioned budget of Rs.425 crore by the Sheila Dikshit regime, Kejriwal had said earlier.

The chief minister also said that the project was completed as per the revised deadline set by the Aam Aadmi Party government.
