3 girl students commit suicide due to 'exorbitant' college fee

Villupuram (TN), Jan 24, 2016, (PTI) : In a shocking incident, three girl students of a private college near here allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well, owing to the 'exorbitant' college fees collected from them.

The incident that happened yesterday comes after the recent protests by students alleging collection of exorbitant fee by the Yoga and Naturopathy college at Chinna Salem near here.

There were also complaints of lack of amenities, police said.
The deceased girls have been identified as second year students, V Priyanka, T Monisha and E Saranya.

The girls had allegedly tied themselves together with a dupatta and had later jumped into a farm well near the college.

The bodies were retrieved by police and fire brigade personnel and sent to a government hospital for autopsy, police said.

Anxiety and tension prevailed in the area as residents, students and parents gathered at the spot of the incident. They protested against the college and paid respects to the dead students.

Police added they were probing the case but declined to comment if a suicide note was found.

Sad ,Girls committed sucide, because of Administration and fees. They could have instead of suecide just comeout and lookfor something else.suecide is ot the solution. They gained nothing but left back their Familys in grieveness and lot of questions. Why did they not think of home People?Theywould arrange or do something when they knew about their Intention.May their souls rest in peace.and heartfelt sympathys to the Familys. At present, suecide is on the front for any silly matter by Young People. Please be careful parents,.

Education is now the monopoly of the religious heads and the politicians. Government seems to be doing nothing to help the poor and the needy. The recent census indicated only 8.5% could afford higher education. Very true when we see the dreams of young ones being shattered when they cannot pursue studies. It is failure of governance all round.

..Its not sin to dream big..but always know your limit..education is bussines, no one will do charity..these are medical students..Medicine field is one of the costliest education, only who have can do it otherwise it will be struggle for whole family..moreover this is private college..if students are brilliant but poor then dont go for Medicine or Engineering..best option is CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY/ICWA/CS like courses which is less expensive and has good demand..even if course not completed you will get a job sure with a decent salary..

My comments are not against any government. Only because Mr. jeevan holds Congress rule responsible for all and any tragic situation that takes place in the country. May be rape, theft, crimes, public security …….. list is big.
I too had tough time to enter college. Thank God I had a will and determination to study. I earned money saved and with the help of some philanthropist I went through my studies.

Suicide is not the solution and government is not the ultimate source to solve everyone’s problem.

Private college owned by one of the dravidian party. So congress and BJP will maintain silence as both may need support of AMMA or AJJA sometime.
Kejriwal knows it is waste of time trying to establish his political party in TN as tamil will not vote for any non-dravidian party

What a waste of life. If the fees was high, they should have approached the management, leadership etc seeking some concession. If not change the colleges , as simple as that. Why kill thyself? Sounds fishy though.

If it's governments duty to provide free education (college level) why can't such students get free meals and some allowance (pocket –money as expenses etc.) That is possible only by printing currency and distribute among the poor.
Everything is directed towards Congress.(65 years rule) What BJP ruled States are doing? Why can't all the Industrialists and Richest people donate for such cause? Government does not have Treasury filled with money. What government spends is from Tax payer’s money. Now blame the people for hiding the wealth and avoiding tax.

    Next:
"If he is not a Dalit then also he committed suicide because of the University and responsible people in HRD (Ministry)" Do you know how many students commit suicide every year???
But if they are not Dalit Mr. Rahul Vincy will not visit there.

He visited by thinking Student is Dalit, Even if any media tell 3 girls are Dalit, Mr. Rahul Vincy will leave his job and visit them.
Just they are waiting for caste Certificate now.

    Mr. Krish,

Don't try to divert the issue, The person left a suicide note and he clearly mentioned in that University and He wrote letter to HRD and HRD did not take any action. Many people end their life but they din't mention anywhere that University or HRD is responsible for their death.

So why Mr. Rahul Vincy is not visiting college campus and demand for resignation of college head as girls wrote in death note????
not going because in their death note nothing is there about Caste?
And you are one diverting things by blaming me that am one who proving he is not dalit.

This is told by same Media which before told DALIT.
And you are one who diverting by saying "YOUR HRD" not me.

Comments: "Many people end their life but they din't mention anywhere that University or HRD is responsible for their death."
Reply: "3 girls clearly mentioned college admin. committee is responsible."
still why late for Mr. Rahul Vincy Visit????
