Mumbai, Sep 7: Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan injured his knee while filming a battle scene for the historical movie Jodha Akbar that also stars the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Doctors have advised Hrithik to rest until the injury heals, his spokesman Ashok Vishodia told a newspaper.

Hrithik was shooting scenes last week near here for filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar 's movie, based on a romance between the 16th century Mughal emperor Akbar, played by Hrithik, and Hindu princess, Jodha Bai, played by Ash.

This is not the first time that Hrithik has been injured during the shooting of the movie.

In February, Hrithik reportedly sustained a minor injury while shooting a swordfight scene with Ash.

The two stars were filming a scene in which they had to fight each other with swords. There was a slight lapse of timing in the swordfight scene and Hrithik ended up getting injured by Ash’s sword.

Earlier, while learning horse riding for this film, Hrithik had fallen from a horse, his foot had got stuck in the stirrup, and he got dragged on the ground for some distance.

The film is scheduled to release on October 12, 2007.
