Mangalore, Sep 6: Training cum workshop on disaster management was inaugurated by A M Prasad, IGP, Western Range Mangalore on Thursday September 6 at 10 am.
The workshop was jointly organized by centre for disaster management, Yashada, Pune and Home Guards and Civil Defence, government of Karnataka for district administration officers from government departments.
During the first session Archana Uttekar, faculty of CDM, Yashada spoke on disaster management- concepts and principles.
Prof Amit Kumar, director of CDM Yashada spoke on policy framework for disaster management in India and Karnataka, during the second sessions.
During the third session Prof Amit Kumar spoke on disaster preparedness and mitigation.
