Programme on Mutual Funds: A programme on ‘mutual funds and wealth creation’ will be organized by the Investor Education and Protection Fund, Ministry of Corporate Affairs jointly with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Mangalore Chapter.

The said programme will take place at the KCCI Exim Facilitation Centre in the city on Sept. 8 where the HDFC Asset Management Company Limited branch manager Michael Lobo will be the chief guest.

Eye Awareness Camp: Yenepoya Medical College will conduct a camp to bring about awareness on eye donation from September 6 to 8 at its premises in Deralakatte and at the Syed Madani Rural Hospital in Ullal.

On Sept.6 there will be talk for schools teachers and non-executive staff of Akshara School. There will also be a poster-making competition on eye donation here on Sept.7

ID Cards for Senior Citizens: Serial numbers of the senior citizens ID cards from 0001 to 1,500 are ready for distribution. Applicants have been requested to collect the cards once they produce the receipts of the same before Sept. 15. 

The ID cards may be collected from the office from Wednesday to Friday between 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The forms collected for applying for ID cards should, however, be submitted before September 15.
Award Felicitation: The Rastriya Nirman Ratan Award was conferred on the former MP and Millath Co-operative Society president B Ibrahim. He was felicitated for the same for his yeomen service to the welfare of the society and minority community. Ibrahim received the award from the Union Minister Ansar at a national seminar, held in New Delhi recently.

MRPL Online Trading: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL) has installed a Reuters Dealing Terminal (RDT) in their premises, a cutting-edge initiative in Forex trading, informed a press release here.

The company will now be able to do real-time trading online for Forex, minimizing  the operational risks and undertake direct tapping into the liquidity in the market. According to Lalit Kumar Gupta the company’s director (finance) the company has crossed a new threshold in risk management, operational efficiency and effective implementation of the Forex policy, the release informed.

The company has made a purchase of US$ 5 million in which leading banks from public and private sector and international markets, participated, added the release.

Scholarships Offered: The Bunts’ Foundation will give scholarships for poor students who have scored an aggregate of 75% marks in the qualifying examinations. It will give loan-based scholarships to those who have done well in CET, and scored 80% marks at pre-university –level. Applications are available free of cost stated a release.
