Mangalore, Sep 1: Prabhakar Shetty, south zone head of the MT Educare tutorials, which has its HO in Mumbai, addressing a press meet here on Saturday, Sept.1 informed about the entry of MT tutorials into the Mangalore tutorial market. The said tutorials will run in Srinidhi buildings in Alake, near Gokarnanatha temple, he added.

According to Shetty MT tutorials will initially offer in Mangalore coaching for 8, 9 10 standards in State, CBSE and ICSE curriculum and for first PUC and Second PUC Physics, Chemistry and Maths with Biology and for CET, AIEEE and IIT courses. Opening of a branch at Udupi is on the anvil shortly too. At Udupi the tutorials will include training in Chartered Accountancy along with other courses, stated Shetty.

An investment of USD12 million in MT Educare Private Limited (the holding company of Mahesh Tutorials) has been committed by the Mauritius-based fund Helix investments. Polymath Advisors was the exclusive advisor for the transaction.

Mahesh Tutorials (MT) is a large school and college tutorial chain, having more than 100 centres, with a strong presence in Mumbai and fast expanding to other cities in India too. Also according to Shetty, the funds raised from Helix Investments will be utilized to expand their operations across India and in global centers where there is requirement for similar education and training support services.

Moreover MT has set-up their first international center at AI Karama in Dubai, which has shown encouraging results. Their future plans include leveraging technology in the delivery of education solutions across a wider audience as well as provide complementary online solutions.

Also speaking at the press meet, the founder and chairman of MT  M Mahesh Shetty declared proudly that he was very excited their partnership with Helix Investments and regarded this as an historic occasion within the education industry. Moreover, he felt both shared a common vision of expanding MT into a world class organization even as they were making a positive contribution to the quality education in India
.
Narayanan B Iyer, the co-founder and executive director of MT remarked, "High quality private education has always been a big support to mainstream education in India. This partnership is indicative of the trend within private education which is rapidly growing from an unorganized sector into a consolidated and scalable industry".

David Danziger, MD of Helix investments declared that he too was very excited to be working with MT management and team and was proud to be a part of their future growth plans. According to him, MT Educare Tutorials can be a valuable contributor of education in India.
