Mangalore, Sep 2: Suvarna Samskriti Utsav was jointly organised by the Kannada and Cultural Department, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple Management at the Kadri Manjunatha Temple premises here, on Saturday September 1.



ZP president Sushma Janardhan informed that the government has been supporting both the art and the artist in several ways, however it is necessary that this support provided by the government, be correctly utilized, she advised.



Kannada Sahitya Parishat former state president Harikrishna Punaroor felt that it is the fundamental duty of an individual to foster and nurture one’s culture, and at the same time it is necessary to create awareness in the minds on children about one’s culture, he averred.



On this occasion Kodavoor Nrutya Niketana director Sudhir Rao and singer S Shrinivasmoorthy too were felicitated.

DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura welcomed the gathering. Temple Managing Trustee member Lingayya proposed the vote of thanks.

Kannada and culture department assistant director H C Rangappa and Sharada Achar were present on this occasion.
