German police warn of terror attack in Munich

Berlin, Jan 1 (IANS): German police on Friday warned that they have received confirmed information of possible terrorist attacks in Munich.

"There is a danger of an attack in the area of Munich, please keep away from crowds, avoid the central station and the railway station Pasing," Munich police said in a cautionary posting.

Police said that both railway stations have already been evacuated, Xinhua news agency reported.

At the same time, the police have advised people to stay away from large gatherings.

Tagesschau, a German national and international television news service, reported that the hints leading to terror alarm come from France.
