Beltangady, Aug 30: A person was died in an accident at Padangady here on Wednesday August 29 evening.
The deceased has been identified as Vijay Sayi Alva (29), a resident of Kannadikatte. Vijay Sayi Alva was known for gang war activities, in the past. Hence, his name had appeared in rowdy sheet at Beltangady police station.
On Wednesday he was riding his mobike along with one Chandrahas when the rear view mirror of the bike hit a speeding a lorry near Badyar. As a result Vijay lost control over the vehicle and fell on the road.
But before he could recover, the rear wheel of the lorry crushed him to death on the spot. The post mortem of the body was held at government hospital here. The Beltangady police have registered a case in this regard.
