Nawaz Sharif thanks PM Modi for Lahore visit; says high time India, Pakistan set aside hostilities

Lahore, Dec 31 (PTI) : Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said it is "high time" India and Pakistan set aside their hostilities even as he expressed confidence that the spirit of goodwill generated by his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi's visit to Lahore will persist.

"The Indian Prime Minister came to Lahore and gave us his few hours. It is high time the countries put aside their hostilities," Sharif said.

"Goodwill gestures are the solution to many an ill," he told reporters at Zhob airport in Balochistan.

Sharif also thanked Modi for visiting Lahore last week.

Modi had sprung a surprise when he visited Lahore on the occasion of Sharif's 66th birthday and his granddaughter's wedding on December 25.

"It has been agreed that we will re-start the dialogue between Pakistan and India," Sharif said, adding that "progress is being made in bilateral negotiations with India".

The Pakistan premier's comments came a day after his Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan will meet in Islamabad on January 14-15 to prepare a schedule of meeting for the comprehensive dialogue covering Jammu and Kashmir and other issues.

Sharif also expressed optimism that India-Pakistan ties would improve in the days ahead and the "spirit of goodwill generated with Modi's visit will continue to prevail".

As if they are bothered about peace. These statements are just a cover up. The very reason for Modi's surprise land in Pakistan was monetary lure both to Modi and Sharrif. Without any gain for them they don't even give a damn to you. Now these politicians will come out with highly innovative statements of patriotism, religion, sincerity, honesty and transparency. In all these are faku words and fooling the public to the highest. In reality nothing will change between India and Pakistan, still the terrorists will be sent to India and still, there will be soldiers dyeing on the border, may be more than before.

Excellent message by PM Nawaz Sheriff. Hostilities will immediately end when you return POK stop crying for referendum in Kashmir and interfering in Kashmir affairs stop supporting terrorists against India and most important wrest power from the hands of the Pakistan army and gain full control for himself (Dont be remote controlled by Pak Army) finally sign a joint declaration between India, Pakistan and the UN Secretary General to cease all hostilities. Automatically we become friends.

Yash, why dont you check what Modiji and BJP said about the same issue when MMS government wanted to talk to Pakistan!. Most of the deadly misadventures of Pakistan happened during NDA governments rule and not during UPA's rule!. NDA never showed the guts displayed by UPA!. Kargil was the best example!. NDA never allowed Indian forces to cross the LOC even though Paki soldiers were kilometers inside Indian territory!. Read Gen. Sundarji's 'Blind Men of Hindustan' and you will understand what I am saying!. Dont be proud of Modi doing a carefully orchestrated dive into Pakistan!.

Andrabi, pro-separatist who is known for terrorist links is in the centre stage today. Hardly anyone knew or heard about her. They should thank Modi, BJP and Times of India, for giving them the publicity and fame. Likewise, there are many such separatist leaders. Separatist, Modi Govt., BJP-PDP Govt., PAK all they say, working with one mission. But, nobody knows what that mission is?
It can not be peace, as our soldiers are dying everyday. If it seize fire, then it is a shame.

All of a suddenly Modi and BJP Bhakts have found a new friend in pakistan. Lesson 2015 - BJP finds friends in pakistan, when they loose election in Bihar.

Modi Before election.........In this short clip, Modi is asked by the anchor, Rajat Sharma, about his views on 26/11 and what he would have done if he was the prime minister.

Taking an extremely hawkish line in his inimitable style Modi replies, “What I did it in Gujarat, I would have done here. I wouldn’t have hesitated (huge applause). I repeat today. We should respond to Pakistan in the language it understands. India should stop writing love letters (huge applause). ”

Sharma, gently says to him if India should not have heeded the international pressure.

Modi replies with an incredible rhetoric, “India is a country of 100 crore people, we can create pressure in the world. ( big applause) How can others pressurise us. I’m puzzled. Pakistan has hit us, attacked us in Mumbai and our minister went to America to cry ‘O bama, O bama. Please protect us, we have been hit.’ Is it how we should behave?”.............Hypocrite

    You are so very right.

Modi also said about MMS government 'Pakistan ke aage ghutne tekhna Baharat sarkaar ko shobha nahin detaa'

What is Modi is doing if not 'Ghutne tekhauing' ? Is there any other word to what he is now doing ?

Jossy is always reminding us - Hum kare to Chamtkaar... tum kero to Bhalatkaar.... Not an iota of doubt in this !
