Mangalore, Aug 29: A full day literary workshop will be organized for the youth of Moodbidri deanery, under the joint auspices of Mithr, a leading Konkani weekly, and Daaiz, a dedicated portal for Konkani literature will be held at Alangar Church hall here on Sunday, September 16, stated a press release.

Fr Mark Valdar, former editor of Raknno will inaugurate and Fr Vincent D’Souza will preside over the function.

Well-known Konkani writers Edwin J F D’Souza and Vally Vagga will be the chief guests, informed the press release.

The workshop will include writing articles, short stories/novels, poetry, and Konkani poetry session.

Eight new Konkani books published by Ashawadi Prakashan will be released on this occasion. Later prizes will be distributed to the winners of Daaiz literary competition 2006.

Eric Ozario, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, will preside over the valedictory function.

Na D’Souza, well-known Kannada writer, Jerry Kulshekar, senior novelist, noted singer Sangeeth Samrat Henry D’Souza, , Fr Francis Rodrigues, editor of Raknno, Konkan kogull Wilfy Rebimbus, Felix Lobo Qatar, Elias Sanctis and Pascal Pinto businessmen will be the chief guests. Writers of Moodbidri deanery will be felicitated on this occasion.

The press release further added that there will be an entertainment programme and Wilfy Rebimbus, Eric Ozario and Henry D’Souza will sing Konkani songs on the occasion. Dolla Nandigudda, the popular comedian will entertain the gathering with his rib-tickling jokes.
