Mangalore, Aug 29: The 153rd birthday of Narayana Guru was widely celebrated in the coastal Karnataka on Tuesday August 28.

Bhajans and pujas were held in various Narayan Guru Mandirs by Billava associations here to commemorate the birthday of Narayana Guru.

The birthday was grandly celebrated at Katapady Vishwanath Kshetra, Kaup Billava Sahayaka Sangha, Muloor Narayana Guru Seva Samiti and Mudarangady Brahmashree Narayana Guru Seva Samiti in the taluk.

Elsewhere in Mangalore colourful procession was taken out on Tuesday August 28 evening from Narayana Guru College to Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwar temple to commemorate the birthday of Narayana Guru.

Colourful crackers, tableaux of Narayana Guru and ‘Gombeyata’ of Kalldka attracted the large number of devotees who partook in the celebration.

    The above photos of procession which started from Gokarnanatheshwar college.... and not from narayana guru college.... ...... myself was the student of that college... so I can recognise my college
