Mangalore Aug 29: Consultant neurologist Dr N Shankar addressing media persons here on Tuesday August 28 announced that the "Mallikatta Neuro Centre", which is a front-runner in dispensing precision health care, is now on the threshold of opening an exclusive advance research centre.

Dr Shankar informed at the press meet that a speciality centre named 'Mallikatta Research Centre' is scheduled to open shortly, which will be conducting studies in migraine, strokes and peripheral neuropathy. This new research centre will be inaugurated on Friday August 31 by the honorable minister for fisheries, endowment and district-in-charge B Nagaraj Shetty.

Well-known neurosurgeon Dr K V Devadiga will be the chief guest on the occasion and eminent cardiologist Dr R L Kamath will be the guest of honour, Dr Shankar informed.

The said centre is to be dedicated exclusively to treating neurological disorders such as epilepsy, parkinsons and alzheimers, he added.

Brief information on "Mallikatta Neuro Centre": Started in the year 1990, this is a specialty care centre where definitive diagnosis treatment and supportive care is provided for a variety of neurological disorders like epilepsy, stroke, parkinsons disease, migraine, dementia, backache, neck pain, headache, meningitis etc.

The said new research centre will be guided by eminent neurologist Dr N Shanker, famous psychiatrists Dr Ravish Tunga and Dr Kiran Kumar and research fellow Dr Nithin. And the team will be ably supported by efficient clinical staff trained abroad by the Institute of Clinical Research, London and ICH-GCP compliant and they have also undergone training at International Practical Sessions held extensively in South East Asian European countries.

Research fellow Dr Nithin, research assistant Madhusudhan Nair and M V Mallya were present at the press meet.
