Modi extends New Year greetings


New Delhi, Dec 27 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended New Year greetings to the people and hoped that the coming year will bring happiness in everyone's life.

"I extend my greetings for Christmas and New Year to every citizen of India," Modi said.

The prime minister also expressed hope that in 2016, the world would find an end to terrorism, global warming and man-made disasters.

He said that India is a nation of diversity, and it looks like the country is a "festival driven economy".
