Udupi, Aug 29: The annual 'Sri Krishna Janmastami' and ' Sri Krishna Leelotsav' festival would be held in the old Sri Krishna temple on September 4 and 5.

According to a press release on Tuesday the event would be held under the guidance of Sri Vidyasagar Thirtha Swamiji of Paryaya Krishnapura mutt.

The bhajans would be held from morning to midnight on September 4 at the temple by various troupes from several parts of undivided Dakshina Kannada district, followed by special midnight pooja to Lord Sri Krishna by the devotees.

"Janmastami" would be followed by "Sri Krishna Leelotsav" on September 5 with the car festival of Lord Sri Krishna in the evening and the colourful event of breaking of clay pots filled with coloured water and eatables hanging on the erected poles by a group of semi-nude people, the release added.
