Imran, Bilawal welcome Modi visit

Lahore, Dec 26 (IANS): PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan have welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s surprise visit to Pakistan.

Bilawal said the only solution to Pakistan-India issues was constant communication between the two countries, the Pakistani media reported. The Pakistan People's Party leader said Modi's Friday trip was welcome.

On his way home from Kabul, Modi halted in Lahore for about two hours and met his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif and discussed bilateral relations.

Imran Khan said he had also invited the Indian prime minister to Pakistan during his recent visit to India.

Khan said meetings between the heads of two countries will have positive impact on bilateral relations, adding that improvement in Pakistan-India ties was necessary for sustainable peace in the region.
