Udupi, Aug 28: Rugupakarma which a special occasion for Hindus in the month of August was observed in the coastal areas of Karnataka on Monday August 27.

Special pujas were offered at Kalikamba temple in Kaup to commemorate Rugupakarma. Devotees performed various rituals like changing sacred thread (Janivara), obeisance to parents (Pitrutarpana, Matrutarpana) etc on the occasion.
