Modi leaves for Russia


New Delhi, Dec 23 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday left on a two-day visit to Moscow during which he will attend the 16th India-Russia annual summit.

“The year's final diplomatic sojourn: PM @narendramodi embarks for Moscow for the 16th Annual Summit,” external affairs ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup tweeted.

“PM @narendramodi leaves for Russia. Talks, meeting investors and people to people ties are the focus areas,” PMO India stated in a separate tweet.

During the visit, a raft of agreements spanning a broad spectrum of sectors are expected to be signed between the two countries with trade being a major focus area.

Modi will also meet members of the Indian community in Russia.
