71 missing three days after boat sinks in Indonesia


Jakarta, Dec 23 (IANS): A total of 71 people were still missing three days after a boat carrying 118 people capsized in Indonesia, the rescue office said on Wednesday.

As many as 47 people have been discovered by rescuers, Xinhua quoted Roki Asikin, chief of search and rescue office of South Sulawesi province, as saying.

A total of seven people have been confirmed dead in Saturday's boat tragedy, he said.

The search and rescue operation for the missing people was still going on, Roki said.

KM Marina Baru 02B boat was en route from Kolaka of Southeast Sulawesi to Siwa seaport of South Sulawesi.
