Mangalore, Aug 27:‘Pookalam,’ (carpet of flowers) competition, organized by CKYM was held at Christ King Church, Kayyar, Kasaragod near here, on Sunday August 27.
The residents of different wards exhibited their talents in designing Pookalam. Well known Konkani writer H M Pernal and Konkani poet Wilson Kateel, were the judges of the competition.
Parish priest Fr John Walter Mendonca welcomed the gathering and graced the occasion. The traditional delicacy made out of rice flour stuffed with jaggery, puffed rice wrapped with turmeric leaves and steamed, were distributed to all the parishioners on the occasion.
