'Pakistan did more to curb terrorism than rest of world'

Islamabad, Dec 22 (IANS): Pakistan's efforts over the past year-and-a-half have been more successful in curbing terrorism compared to other coalition forces, Defence Minister Mohammad Asif has said.

Pakistan has done more towards eliminating terrorism than the rest of the world, and the country's army, police and other law enforcement agencies had sacrificed more in war against terrorism than anyone else, Dawn online quoted the minister as saying on Monday.

Asif said Pakistan was going through a critical phase as "we've defeated terrorists but have yet to eliminate them."

The present government, he added, wants to deliver a safe and secure Pakistan to the next generations and there won't be any compromises on this.
