Now, short movie on Mulayam-IPS spat

Lucknow, Dec 21 (IANS): In a bid to showcase "the dark side of the (political) system which tries to strangle the voice of truth", a short movie is to be made on the infamous spat between Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and IPS officer Amitabh Thakur.

The producers say the film will detail the sequence of events after Thakur's wife Nutan Thakur's complained to the Lokayukta against Mining Minister Gayatri Prajapati.

The tussle, which is in the courts, will be recorded in a 30-minute short film being produced by Dark Light Films and helmed by Sandeep Dubey, a local film director.

"The film would try to realistically bring out the dark side of the system which tries to strangle the voice of truth. It would be presenting various hurdles that come at every step of any such fight..

"It would be a serious effort "at instilling courage and confidence in people to take up more such fights, despite all kinds of problems that come in the way", the producers said.
