Karkala, Aug 26: Karnataka Rakshana Vedike will observe a ‘Bundh’ at Hebri on Monday Aug 27, for insulting the Kannada flag.

Satish Shetty, Udupi district president of Karnataka Rakshana Vedhike has informed this to the media persons on Saturday Aug 25.

On August 22, some miscreants defamed the flag of Karnataka, by throwing left over food wrapped in plantain leaves, which was hoisted atop an open well in Hebri. The Vedhike had filed a complaint at Hebri police station, in this regard. But the police have not taken any action against the miscreants, instead they are trying to save the culprits, Satish Shetty accused.

The police should take strict against the culprits who defamed the Kannada flag. Otherwise district level protest will be organized, he warned.

Rakshana Vedike leaders Annappa Kulal, Kerebettu Sanjeeva Shetty, Sitanadi Vijendra Shetty, J S Ranganath and others were present at the press meet.
