Udupi, Aug 26: The minister for fisheries, B Nagaraj Shetty inaugurated the Gangolli fisheries harbour in a hurry with out allowing the works to complete said district JD (S) unit president, Deviprasad Shetty here on Saturday Aug 26.

Addressing the press persons here, Deviprasad Shetty said that it was well know that there was accumulation of silt near the harbour and it had to be removed. This silt renders it impossible to park a large number of boats there. No repair work had been carried out to the old fisheries jetty at Gangolli.   The people of the Gangolli were not happy about the inauguration of the harbour as it was not fully ready.  He said the BJP was not treating the JD (S) with respect in Udupi district.  The fisheries department had not invited the chairman of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Fisheries Marketing Federation, Gangadhar Suvarna, who belonged to JD (S) to the inaugural function.  The party was not informed of the recent inauguration of the Rs 12 - 22 crores development projects of the Udupi municipality by the Higher Education minister, D H Shankaramurthy, Devi Prasad Shetty charged. 

Moreover he stated that the party was not informed of the recent inauguration of Rs 12.27 crore development project of the Udupi muncipality by the higher education minister D H Shankaramurthy. BJP has ill treated their coalition partner in every manner in the district.  But the district unit of the JD (S) has been tolerating it.  Even in the appointments to various boards and committees, the BJP had cornered all posts. 

It was after a long time that the district unit of the JD(S) brought this matter to the notice of the state unit, four persons appointed by BJP had been dismissed and the JD (S) nominees appointed there, he added.
