Mangalore, Aug 26: Association of University College Teachers (AMUCT) organised a dharna to oppose the dismissal of two lecturers in front of joint Directorate of Collegiate Education here, on Saturday August 26.
The dharna was organized to oppose the dismissal of prof Emmanuel Lalith Kumar of SMS College, Brammavar and Shankunthala of Narayana Guru College. FUCTAK State president prof A M Narahari opined that University and joint director of collegiate education should intervene in this matter.
The said two teachers have been teaching for more than 25 years and had been dismissed without any reason. Even though Shakunthala was reinstated to her post by the Supreme Court, she was still treated inhumanly, the protesters informed.
