Mangalore, Aug 25:  The IV World Kannada Cultural Convention 2007 (WKCC) will be held in Kuwait on November 30 and December 1.

The cultural and organization committees of the said convention will announce the name of the person selected to preside over the convention here, on Thursday, August 30. The two committees will meet here a day earlier to finalise the name, stated a press note from KP Manjunath Sagar, president of the cultural committee.

The organisers of the event, Kuwait Kannada Koota, Kuwait, and Hrudayavahini newspaper, Mangalore, have requested the department of Kannada and Culture to send a 25-member cultural troupe from the State for the event, stated Sagar The organizers have sought permission from the department of tourism for conducting an exhibition and the director of the department has given his approval, he informed.

Moroever he stated that those keen on participating in the exhibition and selling books at the venue will be given free stalls. The educational institutions, food product manufacturers, producers and manufacturers of handicrafts can take part in the exhibition, he added.
 
Sagar declared that till date the organizers have received 300 names for the Vishwa Manyaru award and the final list of award winners for the said award will be made next month.
