Mangalore, August 24: The Manipal College of Nursing will be inaugurated on Monday August 27 at 10.30 am at Dr T M A Pai International Convention Center here, said Dr Juliana D’Sa, dean, Manipal College of Nursing, addressing media persons here on Friday August 24.

Dr V S Acharya, minister, Medical Education will be the chief guest.  M Maheshwara Rao, deputy commissioner and district magistrate of Dakshina Kannada, and Dr Ramanada S Shetty, director, medical education, will be the guests of honour.   

The chief objective of the institute will be to provide quality nursing services. To achieve this the nursing foundation and medical surgical laboratory have an excellent infrastructure, with manikins, stimulants and equipments of international standard, needed for skill development of students.

The college also has a campus in Bangalore. Various innovative methods are used in teaching in addition to the traditional lecture method, viz. problem based learning, group discussion, computer based learning, demonstration, field trips, panel discussion, seminars, nursing clinics, she added.
