Udupi, Aug 23: The locals around National Highway (NH) 17 at Uchila near Padubidri here staged protest in a unique way against NH authorities for not undertaking raod repairs on Thursday August 23.
The locals here planted plants in the potholes on the damaged stretch of highway in order to show their anguish against the authorities. A similar protest was staged by them a few weeks ago urging to repair the road. But the authorities have not taken this protest seriously. Hence, the agitators once again showed their resistance against apathy shown by the officials.
The agitators alleged that the highway seems like paddy field. Motorists find it dangerous to drive on this stretch of NH. But the authorities are not willing to repair it, they complained.
