Mangalore, Aug 24: Onam was jointly celebrated by Srinivas College of Hotel Management and Vijayalakshmi Institute of Hospitality Sciences here in Hotel Srinivas on Thursday August 23 evening.

Speaking on the occasion Ranjit Shankar, general manager of Hotel Taj Manjarun said that Onam reflects the faith of the people of Kerala, as the whole of Kerala will be lush with radiance during the time of harvest. Onam is the most spectacular festival of Kerala and added that it has lot more that than to be described.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the ‘Pookkalam’ competition which was held earlier. President of Shama Rao foundation, A Ragavendra Rao presided over the function and addressed the gathering and said these kinds of opportunities will help the students to learn even management skills.
