Kundapur, Aug 24: This is another feather in the cap for this taluk headquarters in Udupi district. There is a new professional education college to be set up here.

Speaking to reporters at a press meet here, Shri Mookambika Education and Service Trust director Dr H Shantaram announced that in keeping with the interests of the people around Kundapur in acquiring technical education, a new college known as Kamath Institute of Technology has been launched.

Among the courses offered by the new college are Computer Science and Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics Communication and Information Science. The services of the well-equipped laboratories of Bhandarkar's Science and Arts College will be made use of to begin with.

To maintain quality and standard, the intake of students has been limited to two hundred forty students only. Trust's managing director and industrialist of repute K Devadas Kamath, other trustees Poornima Kamath, Yatish Kamath, Vighnesh Kamath and Ravikiran Murdeshawar, principal Raghavendra Adiga, Bhandarkar's College principal Narayan Rao and trustee Shantaram Prabhu were present at the press meet.

    Nice to know that Kundapur is stepping to become an educational centre. I congratulate DR Shantnaram, Kamath family and others for this venture and add more feathers to it. I pray god to give them the strength to help people in and around them

    Its Good News. Between Bhatkal and Udupi there was no such institution between a distance of about 85 kilometers. May the project succeed.
