Political row over omitting Kerala CM from PM Modi’s function

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 13 (HT): Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy has decided to keep away from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s function in Kollam in south Kerala after organisers bluntly told him his name was omitted from the guest list.

Initially, Chandy was one of the main guests but later was told to keep away from the ceremony to unveil the statue of former CM R Shankar. An upset Chandy said on Saturday that Vellapally Natesan, SNDP (Sree Narayana Dharmaparipalana Yogam) general secretary, the main organiser of the event, had called and asked him to skip the event.

"I am really saddened that I will not be able to attend the meet. I was told that some quarters are against my presence. I will inform the PM why I had to back off from the event," he said.

However, Chandy said he will go to Kochi on Monday to receive the PM who will visit the state from December 14-15.

Natesan justified his action, saying it was purely a private function and some guests had threatened to boycott it if Chandy attended.

He also said the Intelligence Bureau had warned that some SNDP activists could create trouble if the CM attended. "I was told about the IB warning at the eleventh hour. Since the state government had fabricated a case against me, some of the activists are really agitated. I was told if the threat continued, the PM may cancel his trip. I diligently informed the CM about this," Natesan said, adding this wasn’t meant to slight anyone.

The tricky game plan of the BJP autocracy ruling will be revealed with regards to the mistreatment of the CM of Kerala as a political vendetta through breaking protocol.

    R. Sankar was a Congress party leader and the former CM of Kerala but PM of India who has no reverence for the Congress party leaders is too delighted to come to Kerala for two days for the dedication of the Congress leader's statue dedication. Hope that his personal chef to make homemade food will be with him.

The issue here is between SNDP and Kerala Government. Why BJP is blamed for it?
SNDP is indeed playing politics, Nateshan floated a regional party very recently.
It is not a decent move by SNDP to cancel invitation to CM of a state.
But didn't same Oman Chandy took action against some of his colleagues for meeting the then CM of Gujarath (ye- Mr. Modi) a few years back? Public memory is not that short!

It is SNDP, the local organization of Kerala, that is not in favour of CM Chandy attending the function, apparently because of the recent solar scam involving sexual favours. So why blame the PMO or BJP for CM not attending it?

If i am not mistaken this is nothing but an abatement .., something more to hide by the organizers. It appears the reason given by the organizers appears to be a cooked up one.

Readers can understand the picture if they read full article..PM is nothing to do in this issue..SNDP Mr.Natesan clearly mentioned why CM was asked to keep away from the function..If Mr.Chandy visits, then it will be very embarrassing moment to him only..Activists shout and scream "Sarita..Chandy..CD..Sarita/Chandy/CD)..

But, I feel V.Natesan should have invited Chandy, facing crowd agitation is CM's problem and not Natesans' problem..
