Sushma to make statement on Pakistan visit on Monday

New Delhi, Dec 11 (IANS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will make a statement in parliament on Monday about her recent visit to Pakistan, the Lok Sabha was informed on Friday.

"The external affairs minister will make a statement on the floor of the house on Monday on India-Pakistan issues," Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy told the Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, Congress members tried to disrupt the proceedings of the lower house on the fourth consecutive day. Soon after the house assembled, Congress members trooped near the Speaker's podium raising slogans and carrying placards reading messages against the government.

Despite the din, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan carried on with the conduct of house proceedings.

During her two-day Pakistan visit, Sushma Swaraj attended the Heart of Asia conference and held talks with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his adviser Sartaj Aziz, among others.
