Congress disrupts Rajya Sabha for 4th day over National Herald case

New Delhi, Dec 11 (PTI): Uproar by Congress against alleged "vendetta politics" in the wake of National Herald case continued to disrupt Rajya Sabha for the fourth day today with the House witnessing two adjournments in the pre-noon session.

Proceedings in the House began with Chairman Hamid Ansari mentioning about the 14th anniversary of dastardly terror attack on Parliament House.

Soon after, several Congress members trooped into the Well of the House shouting anti-government slogans like "Modi teri tanashahi nahi chalegi, nahi chalegi (Dictatorship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be tolerated)" and "Hitlershahi nahi chalegi (Hitler-like attitude will not be tolerated).

Because of the protest, Congress member Bhaskar Rapolu even refused to lay the Report of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy. Rapolu, who was in the Well, refused to go back to his seat to do so.

"Go and present your report. That is your duty. Why don't you do that," said Deputy Chairman P J Kurien to an unrelenting Rapolu.

He called Rapolu after the first member listed to present the report, Prarimohan Mohapatra of BJD, was not present.

Amid the din, a resolution referring The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2013 to a Select Committee of the House was passed.

As Congress members booed, Kurien even got Sukhendu Shekar Roy (TMC), Tapan Kumar Sen (CPM) and K K Ragesh to lay their special mention notices on incidents of intolerance, workers plight in tea gardens and special assistance to Kerala rubber farmers respectively laid on the table.

Kurien asked members not to howl, saying howling is not human nature.

With members unrelenting, he adjourned the House till 11.30 hours. But with similar scenes persisting when the House met again, he adjourned it till 1200 noon.

I dont think it is an big issue for congress. While people like jayalathia, modi can come out from the clutches of the law, It would be the same for sonia and company.
The agenda of bjp and congress must be something really fishy. The timings of this case tells it all,
As there is a saying You act like crying ,I will act like laughing.
Bottom line is we the people are taken for a ride. Hail democracy.

Earlier, when BJP leaders were investigated and arrested, never it went for such a long parliamentary sessions wash out. This is ridiculous. OR else also, congress can not justify you did so we are doing. Fight back yaar. Let the mom and son face the law and settle it off. Its our own money they are spoiling in crores. They have done all the scam and earned thousand crores of money, not we. We are pay IT with the money earned by hardwork. These bloody jokers doesn't have any right to behave so stupid, inhuman and spoil our money. I appreciate President to interfere and take severe action who ever acts stupid in the cabinet.

clear agenda dictated by Sonia and the high command. They are scared from both the sides. One side, if let the parliament to operate, Modi will drive away country in his development way and prove the prior governance a failure one. after which Congress can never think of any political life. Another side, the case is crystal clear and Sonia and team is afraid of facing the law. So, this is the alternate way of objecting the proceedings. To the extent of BJP calling of this allegation. But ultimately country is suffered and whole money is poured in to water be shutting down the parliament. I appreciate President to interfere and call an emergency and arrest those who interrupt the parliament proceedings. Please. Modiji, please don't sit silent, take it up with President and find a solution throwing away these poisonous creatures from the cabinet.

BJP disrupted parliament again and again, people loved and voted them to power. Naturally, congress is a political party, they could be choosing the same tools.

Indeed it is a court case, but despite the cases going on in SC, for 2G,Coal Gate, CWG the parliament was stalled.

The other argument is country is sufferring. These are the same bills for which congress desperately needed BJP support. The reply from BJP was they lost the appetite of passing bills.

So, it is not congress which was against growth or development. It is BJP, who stood like a rock in the path persued by Dr. MMS, discrediting him and the congress to the core.

In last 40years, congress may be had to face hundreds of cases, including bofors. Despite BJP was in power, they could do nothing to prove. Instead BJP closed the cases, as there was no evidence.
Many cases registered under 2G,Coal Gate, CWG, accusing Dr. MMS and Sonia directly. Why nothing is happening? Since, nothing is there to prove, the game is bought to a new turf. This is on one side.

On the other, what is happening with corrupt Raje, Sushma, Chouhan all of them of BJP? Nothing.

Yes, congress is fighting to get the resignations of Raje, Chouhan who too have mountain of evidence against them. But, NO FIR.

Shame on Congress that they have stooped to this level, let them fight the case in court why are they bringing this to parliament? Let them prove in court that they are innocent, the way they are reacting it is very clear that they are rattled by the high court's observations and definitely they have lot of things to hide
