Rajya Sabha repeatedly disrupted over National Herald case


New Delhi, Dec 10 (IANS): The Rajya Sabha was again disrupted over the National Herald case on Thursday, losing proceedings of the pre-lunch session to repeated disruptions.

As soon as the house met at 11 a.m., Congress members trooped near the chairman's podium shouting slogans.

In the din, Deputy Chairman P.J. Kurien adjourned the house first till 11.30 a.m., and then till 12 noon.

Similar scenes prevailed when the house met at 12 noon, and Chairman M. Hamid Ansari adjourned the house till 12.30 p.m., and then till 2 p.m.

The disruptions continued despite several pleas from the chair, and government asking the opposition to start a debate on the issue.

Thursday is the third day when the National Herald case issue has disrupted the upper house.
