Himachal slightly warmer, but snow in line


Shimla, Dec 8 (IANS): Himachal Pradesh was slightly warmer on Tuesday due to prevailing dry weather, but the Met office forecast rains and snowfall in next three days.

"There are chances of rain and snow from Wednesday onwards," an official of the Met department told IANS.

Keylong, district headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti, was the coldest in the state with a minimum temperature of two degrees Celsius, the official said.

Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw a low of 1.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was two degrees in Manali, and eight degrees Celsius in Dharamsala.

The minimum temperature in Shimla, which has cloudy weather on Tuesday, was 9.7 degrees Celsius.

In Shimla, the maximum temperature was 16.6 degrees Celsius on Monday.

The Met office said there were high chances of rains in mid hills, and snow in high hills on December 10 and 11.
