Veteran CPI leader A.B. Bardhan continues to be critical


New Delhi, Dec 8 (IANS): Veteran Communist Party of India (CPI) leader A.B Bardhan, who suffered a paralytic stroke, was still in "critical condition", a doctor said on Tuesday morning.

Bardhan, 93, who lives in the Ajoy Bhavan CPI headquarters here, was admitted to the G.B. Pant Hospital on Monday after he felt uneasy and lost consciousness, Medical Superintendent Dr S.M. Raheja said.

The former general secretary of the party was admitted in the emergency wing and being taken care of by senior doctors who stated his condition "critical".

"Bardhanji has suffered a paralytic stroke on Monday. He is under close observation, but his condition is still critical," Raheja told IANS.
