Mangalore, Aug 21: The UAE Alumni of St Aloysius College will sponsor 5 or more undergraduate students with good academic background irrespective of caste, religion and gender. A Corpus Fund ‘in the name of UAE Alumni of St Aloysius College, Mangalore has been instituted for this purpose. Johnson Samuel, the chairman and Robert Rego, senior member handed over a cheque of sum of Rs. 4,55,781 to the rincipal of the College Fr Swebert D’ Silva, SJ, on August 17.  The sponsorship will not include the charges of hostel facilities.

In the past, the net savings of the alumni get together have been contributed towards mid-day meals, IT Building Fund, furniture to staff rooms and Cricket Kit for the College. They have also instituted scholarship in the high school and college for best sports men, brilliant students and all-rounder.
 
Thus the sponsorship promises the deserving students a better life and a bright future.
